Union County, Ohio was looking to tell the story of their agricultural heritage and economic opportunity in a contemporary manner relevant to young professionals and families.
Union County desired to be seen as a place businesses want to locate in communities where people are proud to live. We refocused the brand on the heritage of the region and the opportunities for professional and personal growth.
Then we crafted a positioning statement from which to launch the brand:

A STEP WEST.
After 43 years of frontiers and prairies, Durango was widely perceived as a "truck driver boot." We saw opportunities to revitalize the brand and target new market share.
Our research chronicled the impact of an "urban-western" movement in fashion, popular culture, and music. Growth opportunities existed in the young female segment and we moved to redefine the core consumer. We then repositioned the brand as the ambassador of an independent and fashion-forward lifestyle.

Durango Boots enables consumers to express their western side by offering a cultural rallying cry to embrace independence and make a statement! Durango defines the urban-western fashion movement to “Head West.”
Durango is now a leading seller in its category.
A DUAL TRACK PROMOTION.
We conceived a NASCAR racing program for Georgia Boot as a means of speaking to their core consumers and elevating brand awareness among NASCAR’s 75 million fans. We also sought to equip the Georgia Boot sales force with a unique means of strengthening retailer relationships and increasing sales.
Partnered with Sprint Cup Champion, Kevin Harvick and driver Ron Hornaday, we developed a dual track racing promotion around a consumer sweepstakes and retailer incentive program.
The campaign was supported with a TV spot featuring Kevin Harvick, VIP track events, radio ads, in-store driver appearances, point-of-sale materials, and social media.
Georgia Boot has experienced the ability of NASCAR to elevate their brand and drive sales with key retailers. The Georgia Boot sales team saw order volume increases as high as 38% in a single season!
