A STEP WEST.

After 43 years of frontiers and prairies, the Durango Boot product line underwent a facelift. A positioning change combined with the fresh product enabled the parent company, Rocky Brands, to shift market perception away from a base “truck driver boot” to something more stylish and capable of targeting new consumers. With these new looks, it was time to revitalize the Durango brand.

Our research chronicled the influence of “urban-western” on fashion, popular culture, and music. A pathway to growth, and new product development, presented itself in the women’s footwear segment, and we moved to redefine the core Durango consumer. We then repositioned the brand as the ambassador of an independent and fashion-forward lifestyle that embraces the traditions of the American West through Urban Expression.

Durango Boot customers express individual style while making a statement about their independence! Durango defines the urban-western fashion movement and is now a leading seller in its category.

 
 

A HERITAGE OF GROWTH.

Union County, Ohio, was looking to tell the tale of its agricultural heritage and economic prosperity in a contemporary manner relevant to young professionals and families.

Union County’s untold story revealed the region to be a place businesses should want to locate, full of communities where people are proud to live. We refocused the brand on its rich history and decades of economic bounty. In weaving a narrative around the county’s heritage and abundance of growth opportunities, we crafted a positioning statement to move the brand forward:

Built on a rich history forged from the land, Union County, Ohio, offers many growth opportunities. Businesses are encouraged to locate here in communities where families choose to raise their children and people are proud to live.

A DUAL TRACK PROMOTION.

 

We conceived a NASCAR racing program for Georgia Boot to speak to their core consumers and elevate brand awareness among NASCAR’s 75 million fans. We also sought to equip the Georgia Boot sales force with an experienced-based means of strengthening retailer relationships and increasing sales.

Partnered with NASCAR Cup Champion Kevin Harvick and driver Ron Hornaday, we developed a dual-track racing promotion around a consumer sweepstakes and retailer incentive program.

Supported by TV spots and radio ads with Kevin Harvick, the campaign featured VIP track events, in-store driver appearances, point-of-sale materials, and social media.

Georgia Boot has experienced the ability of NASCAR to elevate its brand and drive sales with key retailers. The Georgia Boot sales team saw volume orders increase by 38% in the first season!

Creating stories for children is a passion for our founder, Jason Jourdan. Jason has long kept one foot in the publishing industry, illustrating the popular PBS Kids series of books and working with several studios to produce art for Penguin Books and licensed character properties like Moshi Monsters and Backyardigans and Lazy Town for Nickelodeon.

In addition to providing a revitalized identity and brand platform, we restructured their website with a new interface to enhance the user experience and deliver more content.

We then developed a digital ad delivery system that equipped CPG with analytics and geo-targeting capabilities to offer more value to potential advertisers.
